I'm a bit of an oven person as in even if I mean to cook it usually ends up in the oven and not on the stove.

But I also enjoy actual honest baking and I've decided to share some of my favourite recipes here. Before I get on the (rather bigger) project of putting up my cookie recipes, I'll put up a different one tonight.
Cookies are next, because in Germany, cookie baking is an Advent activity. Therefore our cookies tend to be "Christmassy" in the way they taste and look. They are usually harder and smaller than American cookies and we often use cookie cutters in forms of christmas trees, stars, angels etc..

The massive exam that's been hanging over my head for over a year is FINALLY OVER!!! And it seems I passed!!! (Final results in 2 weeks) I totally don't deserve it as I've not studied for like more than half a year, but I got lucky and I remembered some stuff and I passed the oral part today. I didn't sleep because I was lying in bed at 2 am to terrified to sleep and kind of shaking and THAT'S when I was finally able to kind of study FML! Now I'm exhausted and it hasn't really sunk in yet and I'm too tired but an hour ago I was totally randomly squeeing.
Well, now that that's done I'll have to see where I stand and get a relatively fresh start at the end of October when Uni starts again.

star trek
As much as I adore the new Star Trek movie (I have seen it four times and it would have been more often if they showed it in English here and not just at my parents. My family by the way has absolutely NO interest in Sci Fi and I am being made fun of for having seen the movie four times. I am not grateful to be related to these people in those moments when I want somebody to ask me: Wanna go again?! I did take my cousin (12) the last time I went and she liked it, so I have hopes for my plans of corrupting her! (She needs corrupting! Her mother still thinks that J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter to lure children away from christ or some such. They live in Texas by the way, but are visiting right now.) why couldn't it have come out three month from now? (Kudos to you if you still remembered the beginning of that sentence!)

But back to my original point: I have a MAJOR exam in August and I REALLY REALLY need to hit the books RIGHT NOW and keep going until then and I still won't manage to learn everything.

I do NOT have time to keep up with this shiny, awesome, totally cool new -Trek-fandom explosion.

I want to read all that awesome fic. And the meta. I want to write meta. I want to put together rec lists! I just want to be able to keep order in my bookmarks, so that I can actually find something instead of staring at the massive linklist and knowing it's in there SOMEWHERE.
Instead my computer keeps slowing to a crawl because I have so many open tabs in my browser! And they just keep multiplying! By the time I've finished reading something there are three hundred new posts!

People, I adore y'all, but you're killing me!

Sigh, well I'll just have to deal (I don't want to, sobs) and hope everything will still be going strong when I get back my life (not really, then I'll have many new things to study) at the end of August.

The universe is being MEAN to me, can you tell?

Some short time ago I really didn't want to study. As a result I watched some TV on my computer. That leaves my hands idle and I can only play spider solitaire (in a window under the vid) for so long. I then decided to crochet something. I didn't actually know what I wanted to make, but I think it actually turned out pretty neat.

Hallo

So,  new journal, first entry: what to say?

I'm feanna at livejournal too, if anybody has come across me there. Which must have been in a comment I left somewhere, as leaving comments and having an flist is the reason I maintain a journal over there. My journal itself has less than 10 entries. For this reason Nobody actually reads my jounal and (for now at least) there probably won't be anybody who actually reads this post, but if you're here, you're totally welcome, also: HY!!

I do intend to actually use this account. I have to start studying for a big exam in August though and might therefore not be around all the time. This is a paid acoount mainly because I think Dreamwidth is awesome and I can afford to give them 5 dollars because I think so. As I probably won't use any of the features this gets me and because I'm still a student and five dollars once is different from a monthly expense I'll very probably let it expire and let this become a free account.

I mostly read fanfiction, though i do follow other topics that I'm interested in. I tried writing a fic once or twice, but as I have none of the drive to write that most writers report, or a natural talent, I'll probably never get around to the point where I actually produce something worth posting.

I started out in Harry Potter fandom in 2002. Mostly author's pages and archives (yes ff.net too, and ..., actually no, no need to remember that). Then Lord of the Rings which is where I started following a few livejournals then NCIS (small fandom, some quality fic, but also stuff that just hurts in retrospect) and then Stargate Atlantis (crappy show, amazing fic) and recently a little Merlin fic. Those are the main one's I remember right now. There've been many more where I've drifted in read a fic or two and drifted out again.

I read a lot of slash, but also het and gen. Femslash when it's recced. I like aus and crossovers. I'm usually pretty open about my reading, mainly it has to be good. I don't have any triggers, so nobody need to worry about actually hurting me, but I do have a few squicks. I don't read noncon that's meant to be sexy. I'm not normally into incest, whith the exception of (identical) non real life twincest. I don't read much of RL-fic and only with the clear understanding that it's still imaginary characters, just based on RL-people.

I think this should be enough for now.
